Nine UK companies participated in a UKTI DSO Defence & Security Industry Day at HMA Lima’s Residence on 23 March in lieu of a Defence & Security Industry Day (DSID) which was due to be held on HMS MONTROSE but had to be cancelled owing to a maintenance problem on the ship.

Chinese publishing company Phoenix Publishing and Media Group has chosen to set up a headquarters in the UK.
UK exported £8 billion of defence and security goods and services in 2011. This compared with £8 billion in 2010. Defence exports were down by £400M at £5.4 billion but security sector exports increased by £600m to £2.6 billion.
